Our Story

Our story began in 1998 when founder Paul Edwards, after working for an international franchising company in the commercial cleaning sector, realised he could create something better. A business built on honesty, care, and quality service. Taking a leap of faith, Paul sold his home and invested the equity in his new venture.

In 2003, the business evolved into Edwards Commercial Cleaning when Paul's wife, Hazel, joined him as co-director. Putting their family name above the door symbolised everything they stood for: reliability, trust, and a genuine people-first approach.

Their son, Jonny Edwards, has grown up with the business. Starting at just 15, he supported Hazel with payroll, invoicing, and administration, before studying business at college and university. After graduating, Jonny joined full-time in the operations department full-time, later moving into sales, where he successfully brought several world-class businesses on board. In 2025, Jonny became a Director, proudly continuing the family tradition.

Today, Edwards Commercial Cleaning is one of the North East and Yorkshire's most respected cleaning companies, trusted by clients across sectors including offices, factories, educational environments, and medical facilities.
